The Golden State Warriors faced a disappointing 102-92 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. Despite an outstanding display from Jonathan Kuminga, the Warriors found it difficult to remain competitive in the absence of their star, Stephen Curry, struggling to match the Clippers’ pace.
This defeat marks the Warriors’ third consecutive loss, worsening their recent record to just 3-12 over the last 15 games—a stark contrast to their earlier successful stretch, where they achieved a 12-3 record within their first 15 outings. Alongside the setback against the Clippers, the Warriors had previously lost to the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day and the Indiana Pacers.
Currently holding a record of 15-15, the Warriors find themselves in 11th place in the Western Conference. Conversely, the Clippers, who emerged victorious, improved to an 18-13 record, which puts them in fifth place in the West.
Clippers’ Balanced Effort Secures Victory Despite Jonathan Kuminga’s Heroic Rise
Jonathan Kuminga achieved a milestone off the bench, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to record 30+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in a single game and the first Warrior to do so. He totaled 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists over 37 minutes of play. Unfortunately, his extraordinary performance was insufficient to secure a win for the team.

The rest of the Warriors struggled to find their offensive groove. Trayce Jackson-Davis added 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Moses Moody chipped in 11 points. Both Andrew Wiggins and Buddy Hield had subdued performances, contributing only 5 points each.
In contrast, the Clippers exhibited a balanced team effort, with six players reaching double digits in scoring. Ivica Zubac stood out with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks, shooting an impressive 88.9% from the floor.
Norman Powell led all scorers with 26 points, while James Harden contributed with 18 points, three rebounds, and seven assists. Additionally, Derrick Jones Jr. provided 14 points with six rebounds, and Kris Dunn added 13 points and seven rebounds to the tally.
Up next for the Clippers is a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, while Kuminga’s Warriors will take on the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
