The Phoenix Suns have faced a challenging season, struggling to establish consistency even with Kevin Durant at the helm. Currently holding a record of 30-34, the Suns find themselves ranked eleventh in the Western Conference—far removed from the championship aspirations they had at the season’s outset.

After the Suns triumphed over the Dallas Mavericks with a score of 126-115 on Sunday, sports commentator Skip Bayless made a controversial statement regarding Durant’s performance. In response, Durant swiftly took to social media to address Bayless’ remarks. The Suns star reposted Bayless’ comments on X, delivering a stinging reply.

F**k it, We’re both washed, it was a great run,” Durant stated.

Prior to this exchange, on The Skip Bayless Show, Bayless remarked that Durant appears to lack the same drive for the sport. He went on to suggest that Durant’s involvement in a documentary about his career signals that he may be approaching the conclusion of his time in basketball.

The more I watch him at age 36, the more he looks mentally semi-retired to me. He is participating in a documentary that’s being made about his life and times. And it just feels to me like he is winding down his basketball (career),” Bayless commented.

Kevin Durant Triggers Trade Speculation Following Sideline Chat with Jason Kidd

During the Suns’ match against the Mavericks, Kevin Durant was spotted in a short conversation with Mavs head coach Jason Kidd on the sidelines. This incident has sparked speculation regarding the possibility of the Mavericks pursuing Durant in the upcoming offseason.

Recent reports have hinted that the Suns might consider trading their star forward this offseason, with various teams already identified as potential suitors, including the Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat.

In his third season with the Suns, Durant continues to post impressive statistics, averaging 26.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game over the course of 51 regular-season contests.
