The Miami Heat triumphed over the Houston Rockets 104-100 on Sunday, but it was the dramatic concluding moments that drew significant interest from NBA followers. With only 35 seconds left in regulation, a heated confrontation erupted between Heat standout Tyler Herro and Rockets’ Amen Thompson.
This clash not only stirred the crowd but also incited frustration in Heat star Jimmy Butler. In the aftermath, Butler took to social media to voice his dissatisfaction with how the referees handled the situation.
Butler shared an image depicting Herro being held back by the officials. The Heat forward appeared to criticize the referees, implying that they inadequately managed the incident and allowed Thompson to escalate the altercation too far.

The altercation began as Thompson and Herro, engaged in a battle for positioning before an inbounds pass, became entangled. Thompson forcefully slammed Herro to the floor during the play. The conflict quickly escalated, culminating in both players being ejected from the contest.
However, the incident did not conclude there, as it involved other players and coaches who became embroiled in the chaos. Rockets players Terry Rozier and Jalen Green were also ejected for their parts in heightening the brawl. Additionally, Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and assistant coach Ben Golliver received ejections as well.
Tyler Herro Responds to the Brawl with Amen Thompson Following the Heat’s Win
After the Miami Heat secured their victory over the Houston Rockets, Tyler Herro was questioned by the media regarding the altercation with Rockets guard Amen Thompson. Herro offered a confident and lighthearted reply, explaining that the confrontation was merely a byproduct of fierce competition.
“Just two competitors going at it, playing basketball. Just a physical game. Guess that’s what happens when someone’s scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing. I’d get mad too,” he remarked.
Despite the tumultuous moment, Herro had a standout performance, contributing 27 points, six rebounds, and nine assists, leading the Heat to their 104-100 win. With this victory, the Heat improved their season record to 16-14.
