Although Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem have stepped away from the NBA, the memories of their fierce rivalries, particularly against former Boston Celtics legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, are still fresh in their minds. The clashes between the Heat and Celtics stand out as some of the most intense and physical encounters in NBA history, with each team constantly testing the other’s limits.
Recently, the former Miami Heat players reflected on those electrifying matchups during an episode of The OGs Show. Notably, Wade expressed a desire to rekindle the competitive fire against Pierce and Garnett.
“We’d have been in those battles with Boston, with KG and Paul Pierce in them. Then is this and his chest bumping. People think you’re going to fight. I want to fight! I wanna almost fight. I ain’t did that in a long time,” Wade commented.
Similar to Wade, Haslem also reminisced about those heated rivalries. The former Heat player conveyed his yearning for an intense showdown with the Celtics pair. “I just wanna fight for real! That’s the problem, I still want to fight,” Haslem remarked.
Dwyane Wade Opens Up About The Formation of The Big Three in Miami
The collaboration between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade is celebrated as one of the NBA’s most legendary partnerships. Recently, Wade shared that the establishment of their triumvirate with Chris Bosh was not instantaneous but rather the result of a series of crucial “conversations.”
“You know how it happened, man? Conversations. I give credit to LeBron. He was at a period in his career where he wanted to see something different for himself. We were all in seven years of our careers at that time, so we all had done some amazing individual things,” Wade explained during The OGs show.
This trio led the Miami Heat to two NBA championships. Following his tenure with the team, Wade, who recently received recognition from the Heat, concluded his career in 2019 after short spells with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, LeBron departed Miami in 2014 to join the Cavaliers, and Bosh exited the team in 2017.
