Charles Barkley is known for his forthright opinions on television. The former player-turned-analyst recently expressed his dissatisfaction with TNT’s management of NBA rights negotiations. Before the Golden State Warriors’ recent win against the New Orleans Pelicans, Barkley turned his attention to the team.

In a recent segment of the NBA TNT Tipoff show, Barkley didn’t shy away from criticizing the Golden State Warriors. During a moment before going to a commercial break, he made it clear what he thought of the Warriors’ performance.

“Yo man, Golden State [Warriors] stinks,” Barkley remarked.

Following their victory against the Pelicans, the Warriors registered a 3-1 record early in the season. Prior to this win, they suffered a tough loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, marking their first defeat of the regular season after a perfect preseason. That game was particularly challenging, as Stephen Curry left the court with a left ankle injury after twisting it twice.

Charles Barkley Critiques Pelicans After Warriors’ Comeback Win

After the Warriors’ victory over New Orleans, Barkley did not hold back in his assessment of the Pelicans’ play. He was particularly critical of their failure to maintain their initial advantage.

I’m not gonna overreact. That was embarrassing for the Pelicans. There’s no Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy. Man, they got Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum,” Barkley commented. “They have their three key players. To have a 20-point lead and lose by 20, that was embarrassing.

The Warriors managed to secure the win without Stephen Curry. While the Pelicans held a lead early on, the Warriors quickly regained control, ultimately winning 124-106, driven by impressive performances from Buddy Hield and Brandin Podziemski.

For the Pelicans, this serves as a reminder of the importance of consistency if they aim to compete in the Western Conference. The Warriors are set to face the Pelicans once more on Wednesday night.
