Bronny James has opted to remain in the NBA Draft, not withdrawing his name before the final decision day set for Wednesday.
Earning the reputation of his father, LeBron James, Bronny’s performance during his freshman year at USC – averaging 4.8 points – is of secondary importance. It is noteworthy that he faced a significant health concern related to his heart just before the start of the season. Nevertheless, he displayed promising abilities during the NBA Combine activities.
According to the current rankings by ESPN, he holds the 54th position among all prospects for the upcoming draft.
Speaking to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul, mentioned that James is solely looking for a standard rookie contract and will not consider a two-way agreement.
“There is a wide array of potential outcomes regarding Bronny’s draft position,” Paul stated to ESPN. “As a candidate with considerable potential for growth, it only takes one team. The draft order is not the crucial factor – what matters is the development plan, the opportunities future, the strategic vision of the team, and their financial commitment. This is the rationale behind rejecting a two-way deal. Every team recognizes this.”
ESPN’s draft expert Jonathan Givony highlighted Bronny’s impressive showing at the combine, which likely enhanced his draft prospects.
“At the age of 19, James stood out among participants at the Chicago combine this month, securing the second position out of 71 players in two different 3-point shooting drills,” Givony described. “He also posted 13 points in one of the scrimmage games during the combine.”
