For Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis, staying in shape is essential, especially in light of his recent injury struggles. Last season marked a significant improvement for Davis, as he participated in 76 games, recorded personal bests in rebounds, and nearly equaled his highest shooting percentage.

As he prepares for the upcoming season, Davis is focused on sustaining and enhancing his game. While addressing the media, he shared his objectives for the year, emphasizing the importance of self-improvement to contribute to the Lakers’ success.

“Being aggressive every time down the court, being dominant every game. Doing my job, doing my part in helping this team do what we gotta do. Being a team leader, carrying us in games, playoffs, whatever it takes. We can’t rely heavily on our games,” stated Davis.

“Obviously it’s a team effort in what we’re trying to build, but for me personally, just talking it upon myself to make sure that I’m even better than I was last year,” he remarked.

Anthony Davis Highlights the Importance of Three-Point Shooting for Lakers’ Success

Anthony Davis’ proficiency in three-point shooting will be vital for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. In discussions with the media, Davis mentioned how head coach JJ Redick has motivated him to increase his long-range attempts during the preseason.

“I shoot a lot of them in practice. At the end of one practice, he [JJ Redick] was in front of the group. He said you shoot them in practice, but we need you to shoot them in the games. After I shot nine in Phoenix, he said it again,” Davis remarked.

Davis has also shared his thoughts on the partnership between LeBron James and Bronny, showcasing his shooting skills in the Lakers’ preseason victory over the Phoenix Suns, where he made 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. However, the Lakers wrapped up the preseason with a disappointing 2-5 record.
